Weaver Bird Weaving

Posted by
Pied Crow (Abuja, Nigeria) on 30 May 2010 in Animal & Insect.

This is the male bird, who weaves nests in hopes of attracting a female. With this system, there wind up being a lot of reject nests, one of which I used for the lumen print posted yesterday. I thought it was beautiful, but apparently not up to the standard of Nairobi's female weavers.
