Weaver And Sunflower Stalks

Posted by
Pied Crow (Abuja, Nigeria) on 12 November 2009 in Animal & Insect.

I put a feeder in my backyard not long ago, and have been putting out sunflower seeds and millet. The birds are messy eaters, so some of the seeds have been spilled, and taken root. It only took a few weeks for some enormous sunflowers to sprout, and now the feeder is in the middle of a sunflower jungle.
