Ahead of the Storm

On Lake Baringo, residents use small balsa-wood boats for fishing and transport. Paddles are sometimes wood, but these days mostly cut from plastic vegetable-oil drums, and do not have handles. This man, who is towing a second boat, was paddling fast for shore ahead of a very windy rainstorm on Easter Sunday -- a cause for rejoicing due to a long drought.
