You seem to be able to get incredibly close to these lions (very courageous). They are magnificent animals. The colors come on much brighter on this shot. 24 Jan 2009 6:29pm @Emilio Garcia: Usually when I get this close, it is because the lions have come our way. We are always with guides in vehicles, and good guides stay a certain distance away to keep from stressing the lions. On this morning, we had turned off the engine some distance from the lions but they came close to check out a spot where a female had been resting. They are magnificent, and I do feel some fear when they look in my direction, but it is actually a pretty safe situation. I always feel incredibly privileged when I see a lion, I don't think that feeling will ever fade. (BTW I posted this a bit brighter, I guess it helped, thanks for the tip.) baobab from Cambridge, United Statesvery nice - friendly but scary. the tones and shadows are nicely balanced in this shot and I especially like the way you've controlled the dof and bokeh and used the light to focus attention on his magnificent face. 25 Jan 2009 10:24pm Charles from New York, United StatesNice capture. I wouldn't want to get in between them! 26 Jan 2009 2:08pm Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaWhat a handsome fellah!
