Children in an IDP (internally displaced persons) camp in Limuru, outside of Nairobi. Many families were forced from their homes during the post-election violence, the government now is encouraging them to return.

@mat: Thanks for kind comments! I loved the way this boy is comforting his little sister. I visited this camp a few times and they were always together.
Very nice shot. You captured the moment with feeling.

This is a great capture. Inspite of their circumstances, I love how your main focus and use of light is on an expression of sweetness. Such skillful timing!

Sad story but they still look happy. Was it cold there...? They are wearing heavy jumpers.

@Observing: Not very cold, a little damp. Kenyans generally bundle up more than I do in the same temperature. The children light up whenever anyone has some time to talk with them, take a picture, whatever, but not a happy time for them, they are missing school and their routines.
So sad and so inocent. Thanks for raising awareness

Sad, but the expression on the one boy's face seems to be happiness. Childlike joy...

I love the expression in both kids. I don't think she is sad...just a tad shy.
