Displaced

Children in an IDP (internally displaced persons) camp in Limuru, outside of Nairobi. Many families were forced from their homes during the post-election violence, the government now is encouraging them to return.

@Observing: Not very cold, a little damp. Kenyans generally bundle up more than I do in the same temperature. The children light up whenever anyone has some time to talk with them, take a picture, whatever, but not a happy time for them, they are missing school and their routines.

great expressions on each one of your subjects' faces, ranging from shy curiosity to simple affection to wariness. the despair of the woman in the background is palpable. I hope they have all made it safely home.
