Crater Lake lies at the bottom of an extinct volcano, it is a green soda lake. This was taken while hiking on the volcano rim, looking down at the lake and the dock.

I think what makes this interesting for me is the minimalist approach balanced with the rather unique quality of the ripple on the water. The wave frequency seems so artificial. That must be a property of the soda water? Cool photo.

@Henry: That's funny, I knew it looked a bit odd and otherworldly but hadn't analysed why. I do know that the water has a very strange silky feeling to it when you put your hand in. (I did go for a row in that green boat.)

The lake surface reminds me of an old pattern of obscured glass : makes for a fascinating shot.
