It's a Maasai tradition to remove a top tooth or two to create a gap, the smiles that result are distinctive.

I am very familiar with the Samburu tribe in Kenya, and have lots of picture of them. I have also stayed just outside of Narok a couple times, so I know Maasai Land as well. I saw this picture and instantly agree: its very distinctive. A great shot! I've spent time in Nairobi as well, although I worked mostly in Nakuru and then outside and within Wamba town, in Samburu.

@Tony: Nakuru is going through some tough times recently with the post-election violence and a big fire in the park, but things seem to be looking up. Keep your fingers crossed for Kenya!

I have also spent time in Nariobi.... and surrounding areas... I have a few Maasai pictures.. from when we went to masi mara... I love the unique clothing and the smiles..nice capture
